Dear Hon. MP (Geoffrey Kini (PhD)),
Dear Hon. MCE (Joseph Antwi),
Good evening, Hon. MP and Hon. MCE!
I trust you and your families are doing great. I also believe you are on top of affairs in the municipality despite the despicable slaughter of the retired teacher at Keri a few days ago. The need to embrace peaceful coexistence by Ntrubos, Adeles, Akyodes, Challas and the Settlers at Nkwanta for progress and development cannot be overemphasized. It is therefore imperative that we embrace the good efforts you are putting forward to have a stable and peaceful Municipality for our people.
That said, I write with grave pain, concern and disappointment on a matter you and the entire NDC executives as well as H.E. the President of the Republic know to be dear to my heart, which is the construction of a new bridge over River Gyele at Bontibor. I have had the opportunity of meeting H.E. the President of the Republic and he fondly remembers and asks whether it has been fixed. He regularly remembers the promises they made during the campaign. The last time I informed him that you were working hard to resolve it.
Indeed, it must be noted with particularity that those in the Municipality seeking progress and development to enhance the lives of citizens direly require your support and should be given same.
Just yesterday, my attention was drawn to the fact that the contractor who did a shoddy work by using substandard materials to construct the defective bridge on Gyele River is back trying to repair it. Any attempt to mend or patch the cracked and/or defective bridge over River Gyele at BONTIBOR is highly unacceptable.
Repair of the substandard and defective construction done initially cannot yield any quality outcome to stand the test of time. Hence, any efforts to forcefully fix it via repairs is completely unacceptable and must be fiercely condemned.

It is important to note that last year, I petitioned you both to assist us fix the abysmally constructed new and damaged Gyele bridge, after it failed to contain the first rains, which rendered it unusable. This forced citizens to risk their lives and cross the river despite the danger involved, resulting in the loss of my 17 years old grand nephew and an SHS student last year.
Subsequently, the MCE and I spoke, and agreed on the way forward, that the Tutukpene still bridge will be relocated to Bontibor in order to replace the defective newly constructed bridge as a long lasting solution. Based on this, I had informed and assured the people of North Ntrubo Traditional Area that the NDC government will relocate the still bridge from Tutukpene to Bontibor.

As a matter of fact, they are looking forward to that if a new one cannot be constructed. Not doing so will mean politics as usual; neither NPP nor NDC cares about our lives. I humbly do not think so and strongly believe, the worst case scenario would be that the NDC government will relocate the still bridge from Tutukpene to Bontibor. Failure to do so will be catastrophic and consequential, given the facts of lives lost and farm produce wasted over the years since the collapse of the bridge.
Kindly find videos and pictures of ongoing shoddy work, which buttress my claim.
In the circumstances, I need your intervention immediately to stop this “scam” of repairs in order to relocate the still bridge to finally fix the problem before the rains set in. This will enable us avoid loss of lives as it happened last year.

Thank you for your consideration, cooperation and support in this matter.
Sincerely yours
Nana Obirikitibi Amnadu Okordie
Paramount Chief,
North Ntrubo Traditional Area
